Well, hopefully now we can stop this exaggerated nonsense about Rozier making Smart unnecessary. He's just as inconsistent as ever.

I don't think that has actually been the argument against Smart.

At least for me it's far more about Smart's own issues (i.e. off-court stuff, lack of offensive ability, possible cost to re-sign).

Also, it's obvious neither player is starter quality.  Rozier is being asked to play above his pay grade right now with Kyrie out.

Need something going towards the basket.

Honestly, can't feel too upset. The entire bench is rookies. Rozier has gone understandably cold, let's be honest, he isn't a real point guard in the traditional sense regardless.

When is Monroe gonna sign/play?

I'm looking forward to it when it does happen.

I LOVE Theis, but Baynes don't ever have to see the game floor if I had my way unless it's to body up on some big to draw hard fouls.

Smart luvs the difficult defensive assignments on the top guards .   Thats whatnImluv about him , the owrk he does against the best on defense.

I ll take Larkin and Smart over Rozier

I agree, but Danny is stuck on TR. On another note Nader hasn't been too bad recently.

Well, at least Smart is consistent. He's worse than bad Rozier offensively every game :P

Rozier hasn't shot well, but he's been largely responsible to holding Lillard to 1 for 8 shooting and preventing dribble penetration. He has 4 assists, but he could have much more as many of his teammates have missed wide open shots. The Blazers are also one of the better defensive clubs.

Let's just not act as though he hasn't brought anything to the table. If that screen on Al hadn't been called he'd be outscoring Lillard. As it stands now he's got 3 pts to Lillard's 4.

Celtics didn't play a completely horrid half. If they could have held Harkless to 2-4 from three instead of 4-4 and Ojeleye could have hit two of his WIDE OPEN threes instead of going 0-4 and this is a 4 point game. Two bench guys are ghe biggest difference in the game right now.

I can't say I'll be mad if we lose. We're missing 3 of our 7 best players (4 of 8 if you include Monroe) so losing to a good team like the Blazers given the circumstances isn't that bad.

That's the thing with Rozier. You get flashes, but he's so inconsistent at this point. At least with Smart you can count on his defense night in, night out.

Passing is a consistent skill too (although actually Smart did have a bit of a bad stretch with that to be honest lol, but otherwise he's pretty good).

Actually, I thought it was rather horrid. Bad defense, bad offense, mental mistakes, you name it.

The silver lining about being so shorthanded is that Brown is getting rare PnR reps and some iso plays.  He's looked really good in PnR over the past two games, far better than I would have expected.

He almost always makes he right pass. He's shown some good growth as a playmaker this year.
