Woj mentioned that he has heard that Marcus Smart is available for a first round pick.

I don’t want to believe it.  Thoughts?

If we don't intend to sign him and either have a clear replacement for him in the rotation (like Tyreke), or don't think we're serious contenders it's very possible. Smart's stupid injury and Rozier's emergence have definitely made it more plausible we'll cut bait.

Give us the nets pick back? Lol. Cavs could use some defense

but seriously which team might want smart?

Is that just postering for a Tyreke Evans trade? It's reported that they want a 1st round pick. We value Marcus as a first round pick. BAM fireworks.

Could be a nice fit in OKC as a Roberson fill in. Would play next to 3 primary scorers so maybe that could limit his chucking tendencies. Pkus, he plays great in OKC.

Our defense is not going to maintain elite status if we keep trading away our top defenders.

Don't be so sure.  A team planning on making a run for him this summer would be well served to grab him now I would think.

I think Horford is probably our most valuable defender. He isn't flashy, and doesn't get a lot of blocks/steals, but very few players are better positional/team defenders. Being in the right spot all the time, and contesting shots is a very underrated part of defense.

Even if he isn’t traded now looks like he won’t be back next season with Boston. Think the team is fed up with his selfish antics

If they make no other moves, he'll be back if the price is right.  If it's too much - and it may be - they'll let him go.  All things being equal I think they'd prefer that he be here. But he's not getting big money from the Celtics and that is likely to make him want to go elsewhere.

Where is the woj report though? Because I haven't heard that at all.
