This could be the series for him to prove his worth against Thompson.

Well he has looked good at times. Very good rebounder, surprisingly good passer, good low post scorer.
Where does he fit next year?
Baynes
Horford
Theiss
Morris
On a depth chart for pf/c guys he would be last.  I was very impressed with Theiss and I actually think he would be very important to us in this playoff series.
He also seemingly has bad hands, we saw some untimely turnovers from him.

Agreed on the depth chart and I would add that I’d like Yabusele so get some PT next year and develop further.  I just don’t see a place for Monroe, and I think he can get more money elsewhere.

Monroe's been confusing to me...I thought he'd mean a lot more in the playoffs, but....  Maybe this series is why we got him.

I thought he should have seen more minutes in the Philadelphia series.
15 minutes a game could be helpful!

Same here. Maybe he's going to be put in to counter tristan thompson. Not that the Celtics aren't doing great but I expected Monroe to have a bigger impact and get more minutes. Maybe he's hurt or something and the coaching staff aren't saying anything. He may not be 100%

He's still got valuable NBA skills but I don't think many teams need a center and he doesn't do the big things that modern teams want most from their centers (shooting and rim protection). I'd guess the mid-level exception.

IMO Monroe doesn't fit with the way we play. And as Kozlo said about the DPE.

No thank you...

This guy can be okay in moments in regular season games... But in the post Season when mismatches are exposed on the regular, this guy is a huge liability...

He was brought in to help us in the post-season but he simply can't.

What he did tonight was exactly why he was brought in. A few minutes to spell Horford/Baynes.

He got exposed by Bron on 1 play, but that happens to almost everyone.

4 points, +1, 6 minutes is literally what I thought he would provide in the playoffs when he was contracted.

It is important to realize that, Horford and Baynes are two of the best defensive bigs in the league. Probably both top 10, maybe even top 5. Both.

Fun Greg Monroe stats:

Leads the Celtics in USG% - basically shoots every time he gets the ball
Leads the Celtics in TOV% - if he doesn't shoot, he turns it over
Is 7th among the 10 qualified Celtics in TS% - despite being the only one who never shoots threes.
Dead last in offensive, defensive and net rating - with a net rating of -16.3 in his 99 total minutes (beyond words how terribly bad that is)

I'm honestly not sure what this guy's future in the league is.

Monroe doesn't fit in this team. He's unathletic, a poor defender, low energy, and just a relatively low IQ basketball player. I don't think we even pursue resigning him. Steven's and the celtics are not rubbing off on him.

I've been a fan of Monroe all these years. Wanted us to get him all these years. Ecstatic when we signed him with DPE.

But man he's been mediocre in these playoffs. Also seems like his defense really is a huge liability. Doesn't seem to match up well with many of the playoff teams' bigs which kind of makes him pointless.

He can score, but man he's also been struggling to finish in these playoffs.

I guess solid depth, but still...

He's definitely been a disappointment in the playoffs. He just doesn't fit the way this team plays. His offense hasn't been near good enough to offset his horrendous defense. The guy just is slower than tortoise in a wheelchair.

He won't be back next season, though, I have no doubts of this. Even as cheaply as we could probably retain him, he'd just be wasting a roster spot.
