Another head game by a tactless vulture or is it road kill vulture--
That's funny as heck. TP.
There's no doubt that someone would take IT and it's a fairly ludicrous suggestion otherwise. No, IT hasn't looked good in Cleveland (has anyone?) but does anyone doubt that IT wouldn't get a huge boost being plugged back into Brad's system? I wouldn't expect him to get 28ppg this year but don't tell me that he wouldn't get 20ppg this year even off the bench in Boston.
If anyone thinks it's just IT, well Crowder looks awful this year as well. He's 409th!!! out of 471 in defensive rating, scoring dropped by 5ppg, rebounds and assists are down 50% and his eFG is down 75 points. He wasn't hurt. It's just that Cleveland's system and their lack of athleticism is killing them. Brad could find ways to bring out the best of these guys. That's not happening this year.
Plug either/both back into Boston and they'd look great (or in Crowder's case, decent) again.
Actually, yeah, a few players in Cleveland have looked good, or at least similar to past years. Guys like Wade, Love, Green, Calderon, so chalking it up as just a Cleveland thing seems like a reach.
Okay, I'll tell you that Thomas wouldn't get 20 ppg off-the-bench on this current team. Whether you want to admit or not, the injury has really impacted his game that was heavily dependent on athleticism. So that separation that he would generate, and need in order to get his shot off, has now been reduced significantly. He's shooting 36% from the field, with some of the worst perimeter defense around, and it's not because of the system. I mean Fred Van Fleet dominated him in a matchup as bad as a PG can get dominated. Fred Van Fleet?
