I think I would prefer Monroe but I think he's as good as in New Orleans already. I would be more than happy to replace him with Lopez who can't rebound as good as Monroe but he can shoot from outside which may fit better with the Celts anyway. Please buyout Lopez Lakers and we still need Reke!

If he is bought out, it would be a serious consideration of course but I think Monroe fits better next to Horford.  I see these as fairly comparable options overall but I like Monroe a little better.

Would Lopez end up in Cleveland?  Is there any reason he wouldn't (cap issues)?  Seems like a really good fit for him there.

I dunno about Lopez. I spent so many years rooting against him that I'm not sure that my psyche could handle the change.

Quick question

Can a team get a DPE for a player that got with a DPE?

I have had a low opinion of Monroe for years, so I'd rather have Lopez easily.

Technically yes.  (I know you're joking that Lopez will get hurt, and in this case it would be too late because the injury needs to have occurred by the middle of January).

How can you say no to Lopez and his 4 rpg.

People keep bringing up his 3P% like it is anything impressive... He's shooting 31.5%, and 34% last year... Nothing spectactular, plus his defensive RPM has been extremely terrible this year... When you shoot over 4 3PA, your ability to box out for defensive boards or blocking is severely limited.

Brook Lopez is a great fit on Boston.  He can spread the floor when needed but I'd rather have him mix it up for Offensive Rebounds and low post scoring.  He is the guy who will guard the paint and matchup against the Steven Adams, Enes Kanter type players.  He can score and split his minutes with the 1st and 2nd units like Tatum does.  He plays the 1st 5 and Baynes or Theis come in for him.  He then comes off the bench to play with the 2nd unit with hopefully Tyreke Evans, Morris, Rozier and Smart.  Great mix of offense and defense.  Love that unit.

I'm not sure how shooting threes affects defensive rebounding...

Because he's shooting 3 point shot, instead of posting up or getting in the paint to grab a board..? Direction and location matters, and normally the farther you are away from the hoop, the less likely chances of grabbing the board is lessened? I don't get what you mean?

You said DEFENSIVE rebound. I assume you meant offensive?
