People SUGGESTED Yao Ming shouldn't be a HoFer, and honestly... If you look at his numbers, they aren't that impressive, and neither is Marbury. Sure Marbury set the tone for other basketball players to play internationally overseas in China, but Hall of Fame should be reserved for the no-brainers. I actually never liked Marbury's game. I always felt he had too much of an ego, and it cost him dearly especially when he wasn't able to move past tension between him and Garnett. If he had stayed, and kept that duo alive and running with the right role players, he could've definitely built far more impressive resume.
People will say he has been an champion 3x, and Allstar 6x at China, but... If you really think about it, do you consider that impressive? Most basketball players that don't even play or benchwarmers could put up great numbers in China... Marbury is apparently the 'Michael Jordan,' of CBA, but that shouldn't matter. Marbury hasn't composed enough NBA resume to be the defining point to get his accolades despite his impactful CBA resume. CBA is the weakest league, if it was Euroleague, then sure maybe... But I say no.
