Trade a player + pick for Evans.

DPE on Monroe.

Now hearing, after the Greg Monroe buyout, the Celtics "dream" scenario is to find a workable trade for Tyreke Evans using player(s) and a pick and then to use the Disabled Player Exception to sign Monroe. Can outbid any other playoff team, by virtue of having the $8.4M DPE.

Who has cap space to claim him?

Would the Pacers make a run?

Exactly what I'm suggesting!

Pacers don't have cap space to claim him. They can make a run at him once he clears waivers, but we offer 1.) a winning situation. 2.) more money via DPE

Dont forget what some said that players do not like to go to Boston. It was only because of Rivers that they did. Another myth destroyed.

You'd have to think we'd be the favorites to come out of the East if that happened, along with having a legitimate shot in the Finals. That'd really help solve two of our only weaknesses in bench scoring and rebounding.

Agree on the east. But we wouldn't have a shot against the Warriors. Not without Hayward at 100%.

Don't forget, we're doing all this WITHOUT Gordon Hayward on the floor.

Would Monroe start?

Or provide offense off the bench?

Kyrie.       Rozier
Jaylen.     Smart
Tatum.       Tyreke
Horford.     Morris
Monroe.      Baynes

Boston is expected to be high on Monroe's free agent list, a source familiar with Monroe's thinking told @YahooSports. A darkhorse team to watch: Oklahoma City.

I don't understand where people are getting this notion from. We literally played them point to point in our two games this year, and the last game we played without our best perimeter defender, which may or may not have aided Curry in dropping 49 on us.

You add a legit 6th Man of the Year candidate in Evans and a low-post scoring and rebounding big (who GS would have no answer against) off the bench, and you bet your arse we have a shot against GS. We'd literally be significantly improving our two weakest areas, which combined with our elite overall D makes us clearly a formidable opponent.
