More "evidence" of us really going after 'Reke:

This from Bill from Boston (Bill Simmons) on the "other" board:

3.4M left in DPE...Tyreke salary 3.3M
/quote]

Danny and co (JZ), you are one slick customer.

Except that’s wrong. The DPE is $0 now. We’ve used it.
Anyone shocked that Bill S has no idea what he's talking about?

Maybe he's not saying use the remainder of the DPE...but rather by limiting Monroe's pay to 5 million, leaves the Celtics enough room to offer Tyreke the equivalent amount to what is left in the DPE?

Just trying to to read between the lines here.

You're doing too much work here....just assume Simmons is an idiot and run with it. Its a lot closer to the truth.

The evidence was in quotations.

Yep that's what I thought the quote meant too.

The Boston Celtics are unlikely to give up any of their first round picks in a trade for what would likely be a short-term rental due to the presence of the Warriors.

The Celtics will likely wait to explore the buyout market after the deadline.

Boston prefers to keep their first round picks for a larger scale move down the road.

The Celtics have stronger interest in Tyreke Evans than Lou Williams

Sources: Memphis still holding out for a first-round pick to move Tyreke Evans — and Boston, Denver and Philadelphia have resisted offers beyond either a young player or a second-rounder. First-rounders have never been gripped so tightly in the league

Heard the Grizzlies best offer for Evans were picks projected in the 50s, that just wasn't enough for Memphis, they have had a dialogue with Evans and his agent for a while, so they know where they stand.

Had a conversation on this today too - Tyreke loves Memphis, went to college there, feels at home there, has flourished there, would like to stay - I think the market will dictate if he does, but if free agency is as rough as expected MLE might be the highest offer.
