From Woj and Windhorst on ESPN:

http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/22191078/cleveland-cavaliers-sacramento-kings-working-deal-involving-george-hill

Quote
Sacramento has to clear a roster spot to take on one or two additional players in a deal with Cleveland and has been discussing deals for young forwards Malachi Richardson and Skal Labissiere to clear roster spots, league sources said.

Maybe Kings clear 2 spots in a 2 for 1. Either Yabusele or Rozier for Skal and Richardson work and is something I'd do.

I'd do it, for Yabusele.

Richardson + Skal for Yabusele and a future 2nd rounder? Sure!

It would be a total Kings move to trade Skal because they've moved George Hill for spare parts.

From the end of the article

“Frye would be eager to negotiate a buyout with the Kings on his $7.4 million expiring contract, league sources said.”

DPE?

I'm going with "Because the Kings are stupid."  Maybe they think Harry Giles will play professional basketball or something

Would love to see it and us be the beneficiaries. That franchise still has some messed up priorities.

Maybe they have buyers remorse with Hill.

Both Skal and especially Richardson are pretty buried on the depth chart.

If we could snag Skal for them to clear room for a trade, that’d be sick. That kid still has a ton of potential, and we’re kind of lacking in young bigs, too.

Hell, I’d give up that LAC pick abd the DPE for him easily!

He's under contract for 3 years though, so he can't be had for the DPE.

True, but he can be had for Nader.

Exactly.

That's why I suggested Yabs (with some pick) or Rozier by himself for both Skal and Malachi.

True, but I think they want to do a two for one to clear the roster spot. So if it's both Skal and Richardson, it'd have to be Yabs or Rozier.

But isn't the point of what SAC trading him to create open roster spot? So trading a player with guaranteed contract wouldn't make sense no?

But Sac would be trading 2 guys (roster spots) and only getting one guy (roster spot) back so would be a net -1 (loss) of one roster spot for them, which is what they want.

Missed that part.  Maybe they can convince Garrett Temple to decline his player option to be traded to a title contender.  Getting out from that should be worth something to SAC.  So Nader for Skal and DPE and cash for Temple.
