Nader’s salary cannot be added to the DPE. If the other team wanted Nader as part of their compensation for a player, he could be included in a trade, and the Celtics would get a trade exception equal to Nader’s very small salary.

Dedmon has another year left on his contract, doesn’t he? If so, he’s not eligible for the DPE for that reason.If it’s a second year option, therecould be a DPE Trade only if the option was waived prior to the trade.
