Slightly odd circumstances considering his current girlfriend isn't the mother of his child.

I’m not sure his plan was to have a child at 19 years old, but congrats to him. Having children is really rewarding.

Congrats to JT. Hopefully he's gettin the youngin ready for the 2036 draft class to follow in his pops footsteps.

I was always afraid of a being a teen father, but when you're in the NBA, and your mom lives in the same building as you, it probably isn't that scary. Your financial situation is taken care of and your support system is right there with you.

Good stuff.

You mean lead his team to the NBA Finals and make several All-NBA and All-Defensive teams?

I'd LOVE that.

That would be a sure-fire HOFer.

Is Dwight Howard really though?

Wow just checked basketball reference and he literally has .9319 chance which is pretty high. I guess the 8 years he dominated the NBA still rings true to this day. I would love for Tatum to be a DPOY and All Team NBA lol. Be like Dwight! (Minus the 1794747286472 kids he's paying for on child support and will most likely go broke once his NBA career is over.)

It's based on your perspective, quite simply
We're the same and we're not; know what I'm saying? Listen
Son, I ain't better than you, I just think different

Dwight also has several baby mamas and had to pay one in particular a lot of money to keep her mouth shut about the relationship that they had.

There was also a weird story in which Dwight allegedly flew two 16 year old girls out to his hotel either in Houston or Orlando. (Not sure what the nature of this was about, but it was strange nonetheless).

Most importantly, Dwight has no ring, only made it to the Finals because the C's lost KG, and hasn't been an integral part of any team he's been on since then. I hope he doesn't turn out like Dwight at all lol.

I don't get into folk's personal lives - that is between them and God.

On the court Dwight Howard has achieved several awards. I'd hope that a ring finds it way to him one day.

i guess, but i think his life would a more easier and his ability to be a father much improved if he had become a father a bit later in life.

but, babies come with a no-return policy, so congrats and good luck to him.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Yeah, I’m not going to congratulate a 19 year old father under any circumstances.  That said, sign the kid up!  :)

Well said.  19 is usually still a kid in my book.  I have a 22 yo and 27 yo who are independent and successful but I don't see either as quite ready for parenthood yet.   It was hard for me at 32 when I had my first.

I hope his ex-girlfriend is unusually mature and that he is able to be a great parent despite his young age.

...and I hope he uses birth control in the future if this baby was unintended.
