Yes, they've been doing that more or less every quarter since January 2010 (with a particularly strong surge in 2014-2015). Try something else.

Since economic records were also set under President Obama would you agree that his economy was working too?

Or better yet, since about the only part of the economy that isn't growing at around the same rate as it did under Obama is the Dow Jones, wouldn't you say this is just an expansion of the Obama economy.

Listen, Obama did nothing to change the way the economy was acting in his first year in office. It takes a long time to change economic trends. Trump did nothing to change the economy his first year except fuel the stock market on speculation of deregulation and massive tax cuts. Everything else in the economy over the past year is due to Obama policies.

Down over 1000 points this week. The market could sustain only so much growth based on the speculation of the deregulation and tax cuts Trump promised. A correction was in order as inflation is likely. Interest rates are bound to jump up and mortgages and other loans are bound to get more expensive.

The small amount of money people saw from the tax cut is going to be given back with inflation. The stock market is bound to go down some because of it.

Monday should be interesting. Will probably be a bounce back day but who knows. Really bad Fridays have led to some horrid Mondays.

Here comes the recession and stock crash that accompanies every Republican President.  I can't wait to elect a Democrat to clean it up while the Republicans try to blame them for the recession that they caused.

All of the stock market gains of 2018 essentially wiped out in 2 days.  I'm sure it is just a coincidence that we are now in the first year under Trump's budget and policies.

yeah....but Obama....and Hillary....and Podesta.....

on a more serious note though - we all have an interest in the stock market doing well. I just hope that it does rebound. But for those who bought into the 'successful business' hype, I hope you can take the 'good' with the 'bad' - AND OWN IT!

I could see another 1500 points of correction before evening off. Then once the Fed starts increasing interest rates, maybe a slight more of a dip after that.

Um, pat on the back for what ... throwing out 2 of the 3 possible outcomes and incorrectly guessing which it would be?  :o

Ok, so tomorrow vs. the Raptors the C's will probably win in a blowout, but sometimes on the first day of road trips they get blown out.  Can't wait to congratulate myself tomorrow night.  :o .

Just bustin' your balls.

Believe it or not, Hannity blames the stock market correction on Obama: https://www.mediamatters.org/video/2018/02/05/sean-hannity-blames-obama-historic-market-crash/219279

(of course, by that same argument, all the gains over the past year are due to Obama, but I doubt Hannity wants to make that argument)
