They've had a few ugly ones recently, but this game was the third in four nights and they're playing short-handed.

Glad they get a night off before Wednesday.

Rozier obviously had the play of the game, but we can't forget the two clutch 3's Kyrie made down the stretch to keep us in it after struggling all of the 4th quarter.  Those were big time plays that only special players make.

True.
LET'S GO CELTICS!

I don't know who the Pacers color commentator is, but when he said "Oh no!", that when he knew, the Pacers screwed up. And as Rozier rises up, a defeated "oooohw noooooow!" Man...

Nice.

We deserve a little shadenfreude after that garbage

Still the worst reffed game this year by a shot.  Tommy's going off now on how the refs worked to keep the Pacers in the game and it sure felt that way. NBA TV game.

anyway there is some video Tommy?

Not yet, but http://www.nbcsports.com/boston/ might have some later tonight.

BTW Tommy just called the game the "ultimate screwjob" which "the C's fortunately unscrewed." Great stuff.

Refs were very one sided. 31 PFs for Boston, 16 for Indy. 38 FTs for the Pacers just 14 for Boston.

Refs continued to call bad calls or ticky tack, fouls on Boston allowing Indy to stay in the game.

Glad we were able to overcome.

Choked away a 19 point lead.  Unacceptable. This team has been very mediocre last 5 games
Not good.
This tells me you weren't watching the game close enough. C's didn't choke away a 19 point lead. They basically had about a 12 point lead in the entire game and couldn't extend it because the refs wouldn't let them get any momentum. That in turn kept Indiana hanging around and almost stole it until Rozier had other ideas.
Wait so ur blaming it all on refs??  We choked away the lead and it is turning into a trend lately.

If you want to complain about that trend so be it but tonight that wasn't the problem. Refs mucked this game up and gave Indiana a chance to win on the second night of a back to back. It's been a while since  I've felt this way about a game. They were determined to keep it close all night.

Cool, thanks.  Maybe the only thing that's more priceless than Rozier's play is Tommy's reaction to the officiating tonight.

True.

Kyrie and Rozier were clutch late in the game, with the deck (um Refs) stacked against them.
Ugly win, but I'll take it.
Just like I'll take the Pats win over the Steelers, thank you very much.
Celtics fan for life.

Talk about a game we had no business winning...

Yeah, no. The refs weren't to blame about all the low-percentage shots and the turnovers on passes that ended up nowhere close to a Celtics player. Gotta play better.

According to NBC Sports Boston this is only the 3rd time since 2000 that the Celtics have won a game when the opposing team made 22+ more free throws than the Celtics.

Wouldn't have mattered if the C's were 20 which they would have been without Pacer refs.

Well, that was exciting now wasn't it?

What was the FT gap? 50%?

Rozier needed that

Strange notion about Smart. I have seen him play a ton of  games where he shot horribly but was clearly a net positive and a big reason the Celtics won.

Tonight, Smart had an excellent shooting night but was a net negative and if the Cs didn't win would have been one of the main reasons they lost.

The guy is an enigma.
