I'm not sure I really want Lopez. He's not a great rebounder - in fact, this year he's been remarkably mediocre for a 7 footer playing 30mpg.

I wouldn't give up Yabu for him.

But this starts and ends with his contract. He's making approximately $28m over the next two years.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

I'd rather have Baynes over Lopez.

For the amount of players we'd have to send out to match his salary it isn't worth it for the sake of roster turnover and lack of production from Lopez.

I think I'm all set, too. I used to like Robin Lopez and could have been convinced to bring him in this off-season before signing Baynes (even though that contract would have been impossible), but I am actually okay with our big man rotation. We will need to get Morris back since he technically counts, but Lopez is certainly not a substitute for Morris in terms of scoring and that seems to be where we desperately need help off our bench.

Too bad Lopez sucks.  No thanks.  We need depth.  But Yabu has oodles more ceiling than him.

Very bad contract for what he could bring here. Baynes has this role for much less money.

No.

LOL. If Yabusele becomes 80% of the player Robin Lopez is right now, we should be doing backflips. It is, however, more likely that he'll wash out of the league in 2-3 years without making a blip on anyone's radar.

Oh, and yeah -- Lopez more or less sucks.

You cannot be serious
When exactly did you see him play and got this impression?
He has played 45mins in total so far.... Even Ojeleje has played  almost 10 times  more !

anyday of the week and twice on Sunday .  Lopez has been a loser everywhere.

I agree.

Baynes has been a huge reason for us overachieving so much this year - he's not much on the stat sheet, but his ability to impact on the game outside of the box score is almost KG-like.

I'd have been cool with Lopez prior to the start of this season, but the way Baynes and Horford are playing right now, no way I'd give lopez minutes of either of those two guys.

Blaming a team's W/L on Lopez is wild. It's like doing the same for Baynes. They're role players. I  think they're similar in function. If either contributes to a big win (like Olynyk Game 7 v Wizards), great. No team loses b/c of either player though.

I'd welcome Lopez as a good depth big. Maybe give him 15mpg.
