I wish at least one of those two possessions where Kyrie jacked up long 3’s we’d have just worked the ball around a little.

good game .  .....Sucks because i thought Celtics were the dominate team......one string of poor play at the wrong time doomed them.

Spurs could have just easily lost the game .  A call or two and its a win ......jst the way it goes forget it and go on to the next

Boston played well at a very tuff gym.

Once again, practice proves that when Brad's preconceived gameplan falls apart, he really has no idea how to actually coach during the game. It's extremely frustrating to watch.
jesus christ koz, do you ever shut up on this single point? "no idea how to actually coach?" this is the sort of statement that undermines so much of what you say about stevens. you really do let your personal agenda interfere with you otherwise good basketball analyses.

just give it a rest.

I thought the Spurs looked like crap when they were in Boston.  Now they're 18-8.  These guys are going to be right there in the West. This was going to be a tough one to pull out.

Ahh!! Loud noises! Overreactions everywhere!

We got so many good looks tonight, and simply missed them. Not because we were covered, but because we were cold.

On top of that, the refs were frustratingly inconsistent.

The Spurs are a good team, and we split with them. We each won on our home court.

Stop with the "We need this" and "Al stinks" and "Kyrie took bad shots" and "blah blah blah blah blah blah blah."

Against the bigger, talented centers Horford isn't big enough. Baynes not coming back hurt too.

Aldridge made Horford look like a chump all night long, and then Al didn't do jack squat on offense.

Ginobili hits two (essentially halfcourt) heaves.

Celtics got killed on the glass like Game 7 of the 2010 Finals (complete with Pau Gasol still sticking it to us).

Great work.

Nice melt. We're 22-5.

Relax.

LOL does not make him wrong. the p;rocess was crap tonight in many ways. many positives also.

Thank you. So tired of the "there's no room for criticism" crowd.

Why not let Tatum be the man sometimes?

He just keeps making big shots but cbs doesnt let him finish the game

Tatum hits the big three... Go back to him cbs/kyrie
He will be - sooner rather than later - but no need for him to do that just yet.

Why not?? Tell me a good reason

Aldridge just ate up Horford tonight.

I think he would have gotten his against anybody tonight. Al’s defense was solid, but LMA was a beast.

Agreed but that's where the coach comes in to make personnel or defensive adjustments.  Either run a guard or a wing every time LA put the ball on the floor or bring in Baynes/Theis.

So you think that when your big man is getting killed in isolation, and your star PG is jacking long contested threes, the correct coaching approach is to do nothing and keep your fingers crossed that they'll snap out of it? Well, congratulations, it didn't really work.

I'd be happy to give it a rest, but unfortunately he just keeps doing it.

spurs are a good team. the corpse of ginobelli came alive tonight. tough loss, but the celtics did not play their best ball, yet almost tied it at the end.

time to move on to the next win.  ;D

did they ever say what happened to Baynes?  At first I thought he got kicked in the groin-man-area, but during the replay it didn't look like that.

Like, why did we not even try to put Baynes onto Aldridge? As bad as Al was on him, Baynes certainly couldn't have been any worse. But after those first two fouls, Brad just simply took him off him.

I don't get it. It's like Brad simply refuses to make in-game changes to his gameplan, regardless how bad his plan is unfolding.

Don't love that no-timeout to Kyrie contested three.

Aldridge was really good. It's a tough matchup for Al. Guy is in the MVP race..

Bounce back win next up.

Nights like this happen. Smart and Horford had their worst games of the season. Rebounding was pretty bad (Though closer on the box score than I thought it was). I wish there had been better late game execution than Irving taking 30-ft shots. Officiating was questionable.

Yet it took a bullEdited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. three from Manu for the Spurs to win. Let's move on from tonight. Best consolation is that the Cavs lost too.
