I'd trade Hayward.

Another slow day in the basement?

Careful with that joke, it's an antique.

Personally I'm with seemingly just about everyone - I'd rather keep both, and it's a testament to how good they are that nobody seems to willing to part with either.

But in the likely event we don't keep both, I go with Tatum. Brown has made a huge leap this season and looks like a future All-Star, but Tatum is far ahead of where Brown was at 19. His poise, shooting stroke, and the way he makes the game look easy are just incredible for a teenager. I expect regression but right now he rates as one of the best shooters and best clutch players in the league, and his defensive instincts look great for a rookie. He's the one you've got to go with in my opinion.

I'd trade Hayward.

A little weird to speak of it right now, but that might be the way to go.

But if Tatum gets stronger I think he could play PF full time. He's a good enough rebounder and the league will continue trending to stretch bigs. Right now there aren't a lot of 4's who play much in the post.

And maybe Hayward is willing to take a paycut for his next contract? It's hard to imagine that the Celtics won't be a yearly contender at that point.

This 30 second 1995 Pizza Hut commercial starring Deion Sanders and Jerry Jones most closely resembles my thinking on the topic.

I said both.  They are both so good after so few NBA games, and we control their contracts for so long.  You don't trade your best assets unless you are rebuilding.  We aren't rebuilding, the rebuild is done.

I will be very disappointed in management and ownership if they can’t figure out how to keep both.  Those two should be Celtics for pretty much the next decade, and ideally even more than that.

And I know that’s not the question, but I reject it.  We really shouldn’t have to choose.

TP I agree

He is in fact first in the NBA in 3PT% :)

I'd trade Hayward.

That is absolutely certifiable insanity and all out ludicrous...so book my place in the crazy house right now, because I agree 100%!! Haha

In the spirit of the question, I picked Tatum. He's just so advanced for his age it's too tantalizing to not want to see just how great he can be.

But this situation with Brown and Tatum is potentially what I dream of: 2 young guys, drafted by the C's with superstar potential, good work ethic, and they play well together. I want them both in Boston for the next 15 years and I'm hopeful that their play will make that a priority over everyone else.

No reason we can't keep both if they turn out to be elite players. Al and GH will be off their max contracts by the time we have to pay either big time $$.

But if I had to choose, Tatum. He has first team all-nba ability.
