Look at how deep Kane is having to drop to try and move the ball forward ...

Put on another attacking midfielder!

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
England should be in the driver seat here on the penalties.

Seeing what David Ospina can do vs penalty shootouts first hand, they should feel very comfortable.

Well, so much for that. . .

Why isn't he doing that at Arsenal...?

Ah boo! I wanted England to lose. Oh well. They deserved to win. They were much better throughout the game than Colombia.

I hope Sweden can pull it off in the next round though.

Save by England's goalie was an infraction....he moved off the line before the kick. Columbia players did not appeal for infraction, silly.

Seems like every goalie moves early on every PK.

Go watch the PKs for England and the ones in prior matches.

Keepers are all coming off the line every time.

Colombia played far too selectively, passively, and cute for the majority of the second half failing to get any shot attempts on net.  Yes, England's defense was very good, but Colombia didn't try enough either.  I wish they spent more of the game playing more aggressively like they did in the final 15 minutes of regulation.  That was some great effort.

and that explains a lot of the saves. Why are the referees allowing what is obviously a violation of the rules?

Are the four best teams on one side of the draw for the quarterfinals?

Is Uruguay the "worst" team on the top of the bracket (Brazil side)?

If yes, is England or Croatia considered better than Uruguay?

To me seems like all the favorites are on the same side...unavoidable?

Croatia is more talented but Uruguay is metally tougher (unless proven otherwise).

Obviously the one side is much stronger than the other but Germany and Spain with their awful performances caused this. I was hoping for an England VS Germany quarterfinal tbh!

well they are going to lose today and they won't score 3, so probably better to not rely on that.
