Fultz who??
found this gem on the Sixers forum:
“Tatum played OK - took advantage of a few mismatches - decent on the defensive end. He is what we thought he was going into the season - a technically very proficient player operating close to his career ceiling as a rookie.”
Lol a 19 year old apparently reached their ceiling. Something tells me they’re coping with the trade
Coping. This is interesting. I mean, he's NBA ready. It's quite possibly he doesn't have the ceiling many on this forum think he has, but to say that he is operating close to his career ceiling as a 19 year old rookie is kinda' silly. No one would say that about Embiid last year, or Simmons this year, or Fultz this year.
Still, think about it like this. He is already operating at Otto Porter Jr. level from last year, which earned Porter a max contract. Look at the numbers.

Tatum is a better athlete than Porter too, entering the league over a year younger, but he is having the same year as a 19 year old rookie that Porter had in his 4th at 23. They actually play pretty similar roles too.
The big difference between Tatum and Porter, though, is the FTA. Tatum is attempting more than twice as many FT's per game as Porter does because Tatum can create for himself off the dribble, whereas Porter can't. I'd say Tatum is a much better basketball player right now than Porter is while still having all this room to grow.
