What happened to this guy? It sounds like he is having some kind of breakdown.

He definitely needs some more help and/or some meds if he isn’t on them already.  He seems to be losing it.  Gordon was never a trouble maker until recently.  He was a pretty decent guy as far as I know.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
There are some easy jokes to make about being a shoot first guy or a lack of defense that I cant figure out if it’s okay to make.

He needs inpatient therapy before he seriously hurts himself or someone else.  The court did no one any favors by releasing him on bail.

Not excusing his behavior, but that is really sad.  Agree that he'd benefit from serious treatment.

Edit: I had also never heard about him having trouble in the past.

Jail works for me, too.  The behavior in that story sounded more criminal that mental health.

Gordon, 34, was accused of punching the manager of a downtown apartment complex where he is renting, pulling a knife on the man and taking money that Gordon said was his security deposit.

The psych eval will tell and if he is a person with mental illness, if so,  he should go into that system and if not he should go into the penal system.

How are you parsing criminal behavior from mental health?

Yeah, it sounds criminal to me too. But it's also part of a pattern of really erratic behavior that sounds like it could be mental illness. If the criminal behavior is coming from a mental illness, sending him to jail for a little while (where that illness won't be addressed) just means when he gets out he'll likely fall right back into the behavior.

I don't know what's really going on with him so I'm not saying what should or shouldn't be done, only that his behavior over the past year or so has been really bizarre and I hope he's getting whatever it is he needs to get him on a more normal track.
