He needs inpatient therapy before he seriously hurts himself or someone else. The court did no one any favors by releasing him on bail.
Jail works for me, too. The behavior in that story sounded more criminal that mental health.
Yeah, it sounds criminal to me too. But it's also part of a pattern of really erratic behavior that sounds like it could be mental illness. If the criminal behavior is coming from a mental illness, sending him to jail for a little while (where that illness won't be addressed) just means when he gets out he'll likely fall right back into the behavior.
I don't know what's really going on with him so I'm not saying what should or shouldn't be done, only that his behavior over the past year or so has been really bizarre and I hope he's getting whatever it is he needs to get him on a more normal track.
