A quarter of the way in, and I'm done with Morris. He should have a For Sale sign on his jersey. Package with no-good Nader and we have addition by subtraction right there.

That said, my main 3 big rotation of Horford, Baynes, and Theis is one I'm satisfied with. I'd play Theis more.  Need a 4th big though.  Not sure where to get one right now. I'm hopeful for a Ty Chandler buyout.  Doubtful that happens this season for financial reasons though.

I've noticed so far that we have problems against teams that have big men, not even great big men.
Is this true, or is it just that Drummond had a really good game against the C's?

Joel Embiid was 4/16 when Philly played the C's earlier this season. Kristaps Porzingis was 3/14. Nik Vucevic was 6/15 the first game and was better the second game but only average for him. Dwight Howard was 2/8. Hassan Whiteside was 4/5, which is efficient but he had only those 8 points, about half his average.

The C's have fared pretty well against opposing big men as far as I can tell.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

TP.  You could use that line in half the threads here.

Let's see how we do against Embiid.

When the big men get off it opens it up for others. Horford looked like he was getting tossed like a rag doll against Drummond. At times we have to use Baynes just to add some physicality in the paint, not score 20 points.

At the trade deadline:

Marcus Morris
Aron Baynes
Clippers pick
2018 Celtics pick

for

Nikola Vucevic

Vucevic makes 12m a season.
And although he averages a respectable 12 points/7 rebounds his main weakness is defense.
So he's not gonna be a rim protector for us.

article:

I wouldn't give up Baynes for Vucevic.  Baynes is a human wall in the paint.  Vucevic is more like swiss cheese.

If we could get a rim protector for relatively cheap value, I'd do it an a heartbeat though.

Any interest in Alex Len? He hasn't been playing much lately for Phoenix. Or, are we simply better off with Baynes and Theis? Or, wait for someone else who might become available?

Actually if I remember correctly the last time we played Embid - Baynes handled him. Let's see if he can do it again.

I like Len. He is probably Phoenix' best big man but they rarely play him. He gets DNP-CD multiple times then they play him 30 minutes last night and he gets 18 pts and 13 rebounds. Scratching my head as to what they are thinking in Phoenix. They prefer to play the 65 year old Tyson Chandler usually.

I want Nerlens Noel.

Why? He can't even play in Dallas.

EDIT: I would certainly take him straight up for Nader!

He's not playing for non basketball related reasons. Still a high level defensive big when on the floor.

I guess it depends what you mean by non-basketball reasons. Carlisle didn’t like the effort he played with to begin the season and has subsequently benched him.

The reason why I don't worry about how guys play on other teams...Brad Stevens.

The guy resurrected the careers of Jordan Crawford, Evan Turner, IT and Crowder.

I would take Okafor, Len or Noel as long as Stevens is the coach. If it was Doc then that's a different story.
