I know its his first time doing commentary but he's not doing his job as the play-by-play commentator. All I hear was "Mmmmmm" or "bang bang bang" everytime Cs scores a bucket. No coverage on plays they are running like "Horford, looking, looking, pass to Kyrie, Smart posting up, etc."

Filling in for Mike Gorman has got to be tough....at LEAST he was better than Gary "Why Not" Tanguay was years ago.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

Gorman is the best announcer in basketball.
I doubt if we will see his like again.

I like Draper. It was his first time I think he will eventually get better. The mmmm and the bang bang bang were pretty annoying though.

Sean Grande is pretty good too. Too bad, he's only available on radios.

I have not heard him.
Announcers are not calm and polite today. That is what I will miss when Gorman retires.

Grande and Max are amazing radio guys.

As for Draper, he’s slightly better than Sherrod so take that how you will lol

TP to the OP. I was considering starting this thread but thought it was too nerdy even for CB.

I didn't mind the "mmmm", but he did it a couple of times when Myles Turner hit shots?!? Don't be checking out other women or I will divorce your ass in a hot minute.

Bang Bang Bang? Better than the "Bingo" from the Clips guy, but only slightly.

Agree about the lack of more sophisticated play calling (eg. calling switches - although he did call one). There is Mike Gorman, then the guy from the Nets (Ian Begley?), then everyone else shares a distant third.

Overall: 7.5/10

Meh...Other than Gorman they're all pretty terrible.

Gorman/Scal definitely the best combo. Scal makes some reasonable special comments.

Respectfully, Tommy has been cooked for years.

how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck was chris bosh?

Ian Eagle from the Nets is one of my favorites. He did great job last year with the Celtics-Wizards series but his partner was terrible. The other is the "kaboom" guy from the Heat commentary.

I like the Bingo Clipper guy for hilarity reasons. I was laughing hard with his commentary during an epic collapse from Clippers last year.

I wanna have Scal and Tommy call just one home game together.

They would get lost on so many tangents and every so often Scal might call the game for a play or two, but it would be hilarious.

Pretty much this.  I like Draper too and I give him a pass as this was his first time.

Like Grande but we need him on the radio. Give Draper a few more shots at it to improve. I'm pretty sure he will take constructive criticism positively.
