first Boston player since Larry Bird to score 45-plus points while shooting 70 percent or higher from the floor, according to ESPN Stats & Information.

When your name is brought up with the likes of Bird, you’re pretty good

You mean Walker, Pierce, or IT didn't accomplish this?

I'm shocked.

Kyrie is filthy.

I'd like to tip the mask to Dennis Smith, JJ Barea, and Yogi Farrell.

I texted my brother in OT that Kyrie sees Yogi on him and was attacking like a heat seeking missile. Right after that he went into that transition post up that made it a 4 point game.

I can see why people are excited by Smith's potential, but man of man is he bad right now.

Pierce had two similar games, but he managed to win them in regulation so he only got 40 points for the game.

(Kyrie was only at 37 in regulation  ;))

I always had the idea bird wasn’t the most efficient player. It’s pretty cool bird has this type of performance in the record books to prove that he wasn’t

Now THAT is impressive, wow.

I never really watched Bird play live but whatever gave you that impression?

Career averages for Bird:

49.6% FG%
37.6% 3pt%
88.6% FT%

Also was in the 50/40/90 club twice. That's all pretty impressive.

thanks I have to research the man more. I had the idea because I kept reading on realgm that the 80s game wasn’t as efficient as today. I now realize realgm is a cesspool of disinformation

I credit the mask.

And I credit Kyrie for playing with a broken face and still getting the job done.  Come on Roy, you gotta admit that Danny's "controversial" move to trade for Kyrie is looking better and better every day!

Meanwhile IT is still recovering for his injury and the Celtics are on a 16 game win streak and threatening to break more franchise records with each game they play!
