Curious what folks think about Lou Williams as a possible DPE target. The Clippers are in free-fall and its entirely conceivable that the FO decides to Fire Doc and tank. If so, getting rid of Sweet Lou would make sense. Williams is in the last year of his contract at $7 mill, and so fits the exception for the Cs.

Some stats: 52.7/58% Efg/ TS; 35.3% from 3pt, and 17.7/3.7 pts/ assts at 27.4 mins/g.

Would be a great fit on the second unit as an offensive spark plug, but this would mean reduced minutes for Rozier (likely)

It may not be worth it for the marginal value for the rest of this season (and the need to develop Rozier), but an interesting thought experiment

Dynamite bench scorer but basically just gives it all back on the other end.

The clippers, who don't exactly have a great starting guard crew, are still 4 points worse off with him on the court.

Pass for mine.

Also, looking at it, the Cs are probably more interested in a bigger wing or Center for the DPE. But going thru the rosters its hard to see who might fit the bill (yet). By the trade deadline/ buyout season this may change....

My preference would be a shooter rather than a scorer. That's why I'm hoping Belinelli becomes available, but a lot can change when buyout season starts.

Wish we could just steal KG from Area21.

I think I'd rather have Belinelli. He's bigger and moves without the ball better. Something tells me that Stevens doesn't want guys that are defensive liabilities because it gives the other teams someone to target, which then disrupts other facets of his defensive schemes.

I don't think Stevens cares about scoring but defense, basketball IQ and tenacity seem to be more important to him. Just look at why Smart gets so many minutes.

There seems to be a lack of minutes at the guard position for him at he moment.

Not worth the trade pieces.

Rather wait for the buyout market and see who is there that can make a playoff difference off the bench.   (and wait in case of an injury that the Celtics need to patch)

A 6'1" SG volume scorer who plays no defense. Pass.

If the Clips decide to tank, Doc Rivers is the perfect coach.

Second, we don't need guards. A cagey veteran wing or big could help come playoff time, but not a guard.
