Smart shoots the Mavs back into the game, then makes a steal in the 4th, and his fan club will gush about how clutch he is.

Maybe if the peanut gallery didn't constantly harp on every little bad thing he does and showed a little perspective by actually being objective, then his "fan club" wouldn't have to so vehemently defend his status as a legit contributor to this team...

Every little bad thing???? He's 1 for 7, 0 for 5, with 3 turnovers. He's the Mavs 1st half mvp.

I'm not excusing how bad he's been the last several games. He's been straight up terrible.

But, yes, every little bad thing. The dude has become so polarized that every single time he does something bad there are multiple comments calling him out about it, and similarly when he does something good there are multiple comments in response to try and balance out the rampant criticism. It's ridiculous.

It's mainly certain vocal posters that have personal vendettas against Smart that drive this polarization, but the primary reason his "fan club" has to talk him up after his usual late game heroics is mainly due to the vitriol and rampant criticism that he receives from the anti-Smart crowd the rest of the time.

Those posters would be much more reserved in their praise of Smart if they weren't constantly bombarded with anti-Smart propaganda in here.

I don't think anyone is criticizing anything about Smart but his shooting.

Al has been atrocious with turnovers this season. Just careless with the ball and his passing.

I don't have my angry mob torch and clubs out for Marcus either.  I just wish he would get a bit better bbiq.  Substitute a couple of those 3's for some drive and dish to other guys and we don't have nearly the volume of vitriol for him.

He brings the intangibles that's for sure.  I just wish we didn't have to live with so many bad shooting nights.

Horford is out of sync tonight on offense. A half a step slow and looks mentally out of it on that end.

i do not like making games we coulda blown out hard. we will have plenty enough hard games as is. we need to stagger the bench and starters. have a top 9 or 10 and roll.
