The way the Clippers are looking lately, the first rounder that we get of theirs may not convey, and may turn into a 2nd rounder.  That pick is top 14 protected for both 2019 and 2020.  If it does not convey by 2020, then it becomes a 2nd rounder in 2022.

It seems like the Clips have nowhere to go but down from here.

I think it's a lot due to their injuries.

PBev is crucial to their team it seems.

Doc may also have completely lost his touch

He completely lost Chris Paul and JJ Redick.

I think that team could use a complete overhaul at this point, including the coach.

If that's the case, trade the pick for Okafor and turn him into an AllStar

I think his super coach/GM type role really messed them up

What had Doc done to improve the team since he arrived .

Basically has went down hill...after the stars were gifted to him.   Even Paul was not enough to save some of his selfish moves and coaching style.

He is no builder or GM talent finder .

Just a decent coach .

Absolutely.

It takes a lot of time effort and energy to basically find, sign, and develop a troupe of young players with promise enough to grow into the league. It doesn't seem like the Clips even tried; he was mostly thinking about wins now, with no development. Explains the retreading of his old C's players, BBD, Bass, even washed up Pierce. The only young player signed and developed was his kid, which was stupid in light of how he lost the team by doing so.

Terrible GM, mediocre coach.

I hope he stays in LA. I don't even want to hear him as an announcer.

Doc is only as good a coach as he has good players.  CBS is the rare one who makes his players better.

Agree, TP. I didn't like Doc's coaching even the year we won our last ring.

Despite injuries, he was coaching multiple-championship team and he only got one, losing to worse Orlando-Lakers teams (in my opinion). He was outcoached in some key playoff games.

This is just regarding his better teams. When he had bad players, he just gave them nothing as improvements.

I don’t think they’ll  give up so soon. They just gave Blake griffin a max. You never know but hard to see them blow it up soon. I see them trying one more time next year with free agents or trade tweaks then thinking of blowing it up.

Right now the clips are going through a bad time but they’ll return to form sometime this season

I think Doc is good when he's top heavy, focus on his short rotation and that's it. Manage personalities.

CBS is better the better the deep bench is. He likes to go deep into the bench regardless of how warranted that talent is. Sometimes it's gotten him in trouble, particularly in the playoffs. But it's also worked in his favor in other instances because the players have been better prepared throughout the season.
