I can't believe Curry won't win this unanimously. Curry is a significantly better player than Irving. It isn't close at all.
Disagree
Go rewatch the finals...all three
Curry with turnovers, missed 3s, basically buckling under pressure at times.....
Kyrie on the other hand...
The first (2015) NBA finals Kyrie played one game while Curry was his teams' leading scorer by 10 points a game. The second series was Curry's worst because he was playing hurt and he still scored 22 a game with a better TS% than Irving. In the last series Curry hung an almost triple double on the Cavs (27/8/9 on a .698 TS%) and clearly outplayed Irving the entire series. So much for that postulation - Irving was grossly outplayed in 2017, barely edged a hurt Curry in 2016 and wasn't even in the picture in 2015. The myth of Irving's dominance in the NBA finals is just that - a myth.
Of course, we're talking this year anyway. Let's see...do we take the two time NBA MVP who is averaging 25/5/7 with an eFG of .580 or the guy averaging 20/3/5 with an eFG of .498? Since I remain unconvinced that Irving is the reason for the Cs defensive prowess this year this seems like a pretty easy decision.
