3 of his rebounds in the 3rd quarter were obvious triple-double chasers. Teammates intentionally backed off and let him have open rebounds.

I mean, he was more impressive than I've seen him so far this season, but I can't stand that kind of obvious team stat-padding.

I'm tired of media glamoring over meaningless stats, especially if they didn't get a win. Good for the kid, but glorifying stat-padding is getting ridiculous.

I agree with you. I like hustle guards like rondo that earn their triple  doubles and actual compete for those rebounds

I mean the idea of letting your PG who leads the break get an uncontested rebound is pretty normal, sooo meh...

Lonzo's primary asset to his team so far has been his superb rebounding from the PG position.

Meh its what you do for lottery teams, the C fans on this board did it for our two bad years when trying to look for good things amid all the losing.

It's SAD that this is the lead story on both nba.com and ESPN.  I am so sick of the Lonzo Ball overhype train.  It's sickening. What makes it so bad is that they LOST but of course, who cares as long as Lonzo has good numbers. I can almost guarantee he's going to be in the ROY race regardless of any putrid numbers he produces. What bothers me most is that he's not EARNING any of this press & praise because his production is garbage!

4 blocks, 3 steals as well.  Except for the Laker thing I'm a fan.

It's one thing for fans to hype up their team, it's another when (national) media glamor over empty stats. Same thing for Booker's 70 points last year.

He's fun to watch.  I'm disappointed that he's a Laker and I have to root against him.

They won't be bust. Outside of that the jury is still out on what he becomes.

It was on yahoo sports as well. Then I looked up the scoreboard and it seems they lost by 8.

Too early to say what he will become, but tbh I just dont see it. He gets stats but his impact is very lacking. I dont see the same thing you see with Simmons who I grudgingly agree looks good.

Congrats to him.

He seems like an humble kid and he'll only get better.

He's made The Lakers competitive AND better - that is a lot for a rookie.

I'm glad that WE were able to bottle him up somewhat but he's going to be a load going forward.

The comparisons to Jason Kidd - while STILL early in Ball's career - are not far off. A 6'6" version of Kidd.

With that much height he has the potential to REALLY disrupt defensively as he gets better.

Congrats on Moderator, too - Moranis.

If you go by Lakers boards, the Lakers got better in spite of him. Laker offense and defense numbers last I check are better with him sitting.

He may be key in the future, but right now he is a negative.
