With our trade exception and so many rookies, is it possible to trade some of our future assets to get Avery back at the deadline? We traded Jae so would that make the salary work when he gets paid this summer? And I'm two years could we still add another big 3 player if we let al walk or trade him? A starting unit next year of lurid, Bradley, Hayward, Tatum, and horrors would be sick with smart, Morris, rozier, jaylen and the leftovers coming off the bench would be sick. If we somehow replaced hot ford with KP or AD, we could really give GS a run for their money. With Avery back and this lineup, we probably beat Cleveland but fall to GS. I know it's possible this year, but next year if we did this could we afford to resign him? I need a cap expert.

Give up assets for someone who is going to be a free agent a few months later?

Danny traded him because he's not in our plans anymore. We can't pay. Our assets are not for real a p---ed Avery Bradley for 2 months then letting him walk

Just so everyone’s aware and we stop seeing this suggestion, you can’t reacquire a player in the same season you trade him.  So Avery certainly isn’t walking through that door this year.

Uh, no thanks.

We traded him because we needed the money to sign Hayward and we were going to struggle to fit him in our future financially. I love AB, but we still aren't going to be able to sign him long term

This isn't fantasy basketball, this is about as realistic as me throwing a football to the moon.

I'm enjoying AB on the Pistons. He is definitely a SVG guy and a featured part of their offense. He looks very comfortable already there.

AB made Ray Allen expandable and Jaylen did the same to AB. Now it's time to enjoy watching Jaylen grow into his role with Celtics.
ok fine

I appreciate the feedback. I didn't know if it was possible or if we would now have the money to resign him the offseason after the Kyrie trade since we lost Jae. My understanding at the time was one of three had to go. And it wasn't supposed to be super realistic. I posted because I thought it would be cool in theory. I'm not a cap or rules expert. Kmsl :police: :o :( ;D ;D

Can't reaquire someone you traded away.

and bring back toine too!!!

i was wondering when a thread like this would start. i am sure "trade for IT" threads are waiting in the wings somewhere as well.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

If it didn’t break the CBA rules to trade for him this season, I’d have already started three of them.

And the Celticsblog tradition of starting "Bring back _____" threads continues. Even when it is impossible to bring them back.
