Michael Porter Jr. says he might skip NBA draft for another year of college.

While meeting with reporters at SEC Media Day on Wednesday, Porter emphasized the fact that he’s considering spending more than one year with the Tigers. "Everybody thinks I'm not serious when I say that, but I actually might spend more than one year in college." Porter said his main goal is to “leave a legacy” at Mizzou, and that he would consider returning for his sophomore year if the team struggles. Missouri hasn’t made the NCAA tournament in five years.

Porter's family has deep ties to Mizzou, Porter’s father — previously an assistant under Romar at Washington — was quickly hired as an assistant by new Mizzou coach Cuonzo Martin. Porter’s younger brother Jontay Porter then reclassified up a season to join Michael as a freshman on this year’s team. Porter also has two sisters at the school who play for the women’s basketball team.

I'm not really worried. We have seen some sophomores, juniors who leapt from mid-first round to high lottery (Dunn, Hield, WCS, Smart, etc.). And 2018 looks like a draft loaded with bigs, a much needed position in this team.

Robert Williams and Miles Bridges were probably lottery picks this past draft and they both returned for their sophomore season.  Even if very unlikely, it is still a good PR move to suggest the possibility.

Well if the Laker pick doesn't convey to us, this will be a good thing.

His reasoning is stupid. Like he really cares about Mizzu being a winner. The sooner you can get to your second and third contract the better. Ask Isaiah Thomas.

 Non Story.
