The Atlanta Hawks and coach Mike Budenholzer have mutually agreed to part ways, league sources told ESPN. Story soon on ESPN.
Mike don't do tanks!!!!
So where is he going to go where he won't have to deal with tanking?

Charlotte, New York, Cleveland, Detroit, Orlando, Denver, Milwaukee, Memphis, OKC, Washington, Portland? Just spitballing, these guys seem to have open spots, maybe i'm off base on these.

Most of those places still have coaches.  Most of those places aren't too desirable.

I mean, Portland and Denver just had massively disappointing seasons and will need to make changes...those are pretty desirable.

Milwaukee, Memphis, Orlando are open

I never saw Portland as a top 4 best team in the west. Did anyone?
So I don't feel ilke they disapointed the realistic expectations. The truth has been the same for a long time now. If you don't have good wings, and Portland certainly doesn't have them, you can't hope for success in the postseason.

I don't think it's Donovan.

Russ is an absolute beast, but I don't think it is easy to play with him. George isn't that good offensively. Carmelo isn't that good at basketball.

I'd keep Russ/Adams/Roberson and turn the rest of the team over. They should let Russ average a triple double for a couple more years dominating the ball while they develop young talent. With Russ and Adams, they're only 1-2 players away.

The Miami Heat have declined their $1.6 million option for 2018-19 on forward Jordan Mickey, making him a free agent, the team confirmed Thursday.

Mickey, signed as a free agent last summer, appeared in 23 games during the regular season, including three starts. He did not appear in the playoffs, on the team's inactive list for all five games against the Philadelphia 76ers.

That's probably a wrap for Mickey's NBA career, at least for the foreseeable future. The guy should probably go to Europe for several years, try to reinvent himself, and then maybe he can be part of an NBA rotation.

Also TJ McConnell.  No surprise with either.

I am actually surprised they did this with Holmes. He was completely out of the rotation and Brown doesn't seem to trust to him play defense. He wasn't even playing in games they were short-handed sometimes.
