So they reset it already, and are waiting to fly back to Boston to do anything.

What does this mean, if anything , as far as recovery time?

From what I know, it hopefully means the break is clean and thus not so bad of an injury.

Mike Gorman says on @NBCSBoston early indication is that Hayward’s fracture is clean. No ligament or blood vessel damage. #Celtics

Well at least Gordon won't be in pain much longer I'll hope

Would complely suck having to go to the airport board a plane and dealing with that

can someone elaborate if possible? a clean fracture means a quicker return timetable? I still expect him to miss the entire season, but is it a 6 month recovery period vs a 8-12 month recovery period?

So this is kinda similar to Rondo's elbow issue? I really hope so because Rondo managed to return early from that injury.

Again, from my small knowledge, it becomes tougher once ligaments are torn.  If a bone is broken cleanly it actually is a far preferable injury.

I kind of hate talking about this too much right now honestly but I just am going off what info is out there.  If this is the case though it's no doubt a good thing.  Could mean, yes, just 6 months or so.

An elbow and an ankle are completely different.  Think about it, you MUST put your body weight on your ankle at all times.  You can avoid using your elbow at times by just dribbling with opposite hand.

Rondo came back with the elbow because there was no real risk of furthering the injury and he could play basically one handed.

He's going to be out, but hopefully only like 5-6 months or so.

If he was extreme lucky he won't even need a surgery, and bones may heal in as fast as 3 month

not just that, but rondo is arguably the best ball handler in the game, so he's one of maybe 2-3 players who can play by dribbling and shooting with 1 arm

sounds like it just popped out of place vs any serious breaks

i can't imagine they can reset if there was bones broken/fractures and cause further damage
