Looks like basically the Sixers can release Embiid if he suffers an injury that makes him lose a lot of time (games and/or minutes), but only if it's related to past foot and back injuries. There's a bit more to it but that's the gist.

I disapproved of the deal till I heard it was a protected deal against injury *. If you get that clause then it's okay to give up the $ given where they are as a team/franchise.
