I really liked Exum coming out.  He had a similar situation to some guys now where they didn't play against people that good or in places we have a great read on.  It went bad with him, but I would show Giannis as an example of a player like that going the other way (I think clearly if he had played at a college in the US, he would have been very good and probably gone right at the top of the draft).

It's too bad.

Was he ever that exciting of a prospect?  I understand he was well hyped coming out of HS and did well in some international play.  But injury concerns aside, he also can't shoot.  Not a good fit for the current NBA, especially for a guard.

Given all the hype Exum received from Chad Ford on ESPN and DraftExpress, I think its very fair to label him a bust.

He was drafted very high in the lottery...

Because they hid him for a year after one good Nike game.  There is one good reason to hide a guy and that is not to expose his weaknesses.

Agents do it all the time because they get a cut of the players salary.

I thought he was going to be a great Pro. So quick, figured his offense would eventually come. Shame injury bug continues to haunt him. Hard to gauge how it will shake out but fair to say a big disappointment.

That's never stopped Danny from drafting a guy and CBers automatically labeling him the future.

I wanted Exum (altho I reeeeally wanted Wiggins). I was happy we didn't end up with Randle. I still think it's too early to call Exum a bust because it's unrelated injuries that have held him back. It's not like he's Anthony Bennett who couldn't make it even when healthy.

Eh.  I think it's very similar to for example Giannis but this time it just didn't work out.  It's what can happen when you have a prospect playing in somewhere unusual.

“Exum is SIGNIFICANTLY better than anyone left on the board.  This is nothing short of a complete disaster.  Just really really terrible turn of events for us.

Oh well.”

Marcus smart last night: 11pts / 4 rb/ 3assist / 3 stl

That was LarBrd33. Poor guy played a bunch of fantasy basketball, but never really understood the game.

Same thread -

"Last ditch effort Boston needs to offer up Smart + #17 + Sully + Oly + 2015 Clips pick + 2016 Brooklyn pick + 2018 Brooklyn Pick + Jeff Green + Brandon Bass for Kevin Love.

Otherwise, this whole event was a failure."

Someone actually made this proposal? Why?

I'm happy for Toine's Boys who was very aggressive in drafting Donovan Mitchell in both fantasy leagues
