Why trade him for the Hornets' unprotected first? Just trade him straight up for AD!

Both deals are about as likely to happen

generally the board  over value  players . mostly Celtics.

IF approached..Danny would be in the drivers seat  though , and could just say I want some 1st round pick or forget the trade.  I would expect him to ask that much .  Whether or not they got a deal is anybodies guess.

Chnaces of them getting Smart ....Slim or none.

Rozier claims he doesn't think he ll be traded .    Mighty dumb , considering DA recent. history of people who thought they were safe too.  LOL.

...and Charlotte would promptly hang up and forget the trade.  I get starting high in negotiations, but if you set your asking price at $1,000,000 for your '99 Toyota Camry no one is even going to talk to you.  You can aim high without being delusional

I think Rozier is going to provide some important depth minutes for this team.  I don't think it is worth it to trade him for a pick that may or may not help in some future trade.  I have no problem including Rozier in a trade that gets us a player that helps the team but not just for a fairly random pick.

I won't.

Rozier would be a great backup PG option for any team. Fearless, plays defense, and can make an impact. Charlotte is poised to make the Playoffs, I would pass on trading Rozier for a mid-late first rounder.

Heck, why not BOTH the pick and AD?  ;D

Under normal circumstances trading the same player to two separate franchises would be impossible, but Terry Rozier transcends the bounds of time and place.

Rozier might even be on Will Solomon's level.

Rozier for the Hornets unprotected first is a great deal.

The Hornets would never do that though.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I'm a big Rozier believer and if you don't do this you'd be a dummy.

Charlotte was predicted to win 42 to 43 games and finish around the 7th or 8th seed BEFORE losing Batum (their leading assist guy) until around January 1!!

Plus, I see Detroit finally gelling, especially once they get Jax back!!!!  The addition of Avery and his defense and his locker room leadership is HIGHLY UNDERRATED!!!

I see Detroit and Philly now finishing higher than the Hornets, putting the Hornets in the 9th spot in the East.

If Charlotte makes the playoffs again (likely given how weak the East is), they could have a first round pick in the 20's. Rozier was the 16th pick a couple years ago. While he has shown flashes, he really hasn't done that much.

That being said, he had IT and Marcus Smart in front of him. Now he has Kyrie ahead of him.

If The Hornets wanted a backup PG, they could do worse than Rozier.

I don't necessarily see CHA trading a first for Rozier, but its not a comparable trade to anything including Anthony Davis.

If danny truly has his eyes on Davis, he pulls that trigger without blinking. That 1st would add to the pile of assets and make it impossible for another team to outbid

I really don't see how a pick likely to fall in the 24 - 27 range, combined with our current list of assets, could possibly be enough to outbid Cleveland when they potentially offer Kevin Love, the 2018 Brooklyn 1st and filler.

For Pelicans it would make a ton of sense to put Love and Cousins together - getting a potential top 10 pick along with that?  That's gold.

I don't see anything Boston could offer that can top that, especially considering the whole idea of salary matching.

Tatum + Brown + LAL/SAC pick beats that offer.

Sorry but to me you don't trade Tatum AND Brown in almost any deal....

Ya I don't think you are getting an unprotected first for Rozier. Hell I'm not sure you get an unprotected first for Marcus Smart. I remember on the Dunc'd on Podcast they were speculating a late first early second for Smart to open up room for the Hayward signing.
