These days it feels more and more rare for one player to stay with a team long term and to have that security as a fan to know your team will have a consistent core identity.Agree with most of it, but desperation trades? They gave up their two worst contracts (or 2 of 3 if you're not keen on Adams) and I believe 0 draft picks, and might not even be on the hook for any salary after this year while having Bird rights for two elite players.Ding ding ding.(They did give up the Chicago second rounder for next year's draft in the Melo deal, just for the record). But classify those trades as "desperation moves" is pretty far-fetched.

so much for him jumping to LA
OKC has always been so cheap when it came to team salary. They broke up the Harden, Westbrook, Durant trioca over money and yet are going to be paying tons of luxury tax money to have a Melo, George, Westbrook. Really surprised.

I don't see how anyone knock those trades as desperation moves. Personally, I think Presti had the best offseason of any GM.Quote from: greg683x on September 29, 2017, 03:59:54 PMso much for him jumping to LAThat was a non story. He pretty much said so in his presser a few days ago when he said he spent the summer enjoying new fatherhood and time with wife, and dabbling in fashion. But now that he was back in OKC, he'd address the contract situation. Two days later, he signed

Really surprised. Are we cheap trading AB and IT ahead of them reaching free agency? Teams decide which players they are going to give the big money to and try to get value for others.OKC seems to have felt it was smarter to commit to Ibaka than to commit to Harden with KD and Westbrook on the team.
