Hayward is going to make LeBron work his ass off on defense.
I'm sure Jae will love the defensive task of guarding Hayward
Warning: I am a Marucs Smart homer

Best of luck with that Jae!!!

The difference between Jae and Hayward on offense is that once Jae got hurt, he literally STOPPED driving the ball to the hole and really became a jump shooter, mostly from three.  Gordon is a threat to drive the ball to the hole regular AND finish!!!

Also, I cannot wait to see Jae defend Hayward, as I think Hayward's offense is UNDERRATED and I think that Jae's defense is a little overrated.  I am NOT saying that Jae is not an above average or very good defender, just a little overrated on that side of the ball IMHO.

Point of this post is that almost every half decent player has fancy highlight videos all over Youtube.  I can even find you one of Tony Delk scoring 52, and I think there is one of Devin Booker scoring 70-something, which may fool some people into thinking he is better then MJ (who never scored 70).

Lets be modest in our expectations of Hayward - he's an excellent player, but I'm worried that people are hyping their expectations for him up way too much (as CB people have a tendency to do) and I'm worried that these people are going to get disappointed and turn on him (which CB people also have a tendency to do) when he doesn't explode out to average 26 PPG and become a poor man's Lebron.

Lets chill, pump the brakes, and not pretend Hayward is some kind of Lebron killer.  If he comes out and proves me wrong - then all the better!

I've just seen too many excited CB fans expecting way too much of guys, and then making the player pay for it for years after.  Perfect example is Avery Bradley, who came to Boston and played his butt off every minute of every day for the orgnaisation and the fans, only to constantly get bagged out for never becoming the All-Star player that nobody with a right mind should ever have expected him to become.

We should appreciate who we have, but the whole idea of waiting for him to come and make Lebron's life hell - umm, we should probably calm down with that a little.

Well if it helps, Smitty posted Playoff Hayward who was putting in work and bringing home the W. I do not  think you can put Delk or Galo in that same category no  matter how many points they scored. Just Ask Russ Smith.

Hayward has nothing on LeBron.

This thread is pure homerism and he hasn't even played one game in Celtics green.

Give me LeBron any day of the week.

BUT, many of those highlights were in the PLAYOFFS THIS freaking YEAR!!!

Gallinari has played in 12 TOTAL playoff games and shot 38.4% overall and 28.9% from three and averaged 12.8 points and 4.4 rebounds in just under 31 minutes per game!!!

http://www.espn.com/nba/player/stats/_/id/3428/seasontype/3/danilo-gallinari

Hayward has played in 15 total playoff games and averaged 19.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.3 assists in 35.6 minutes per and shot 40.3% and 36.3%.

Take out his four games when he was VERY YOUNG and here are his averages from THIS YEAR!!!

24.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 3.4 assists in 37.4 minutes on 44.1% shooting and 41.2% from three.

http://www.espn.com/nba/player/stats/_/id/4249/seasontype/3/gordon-hayward

End of argument!!!!!

Bumping this up.

Lebron is going to have his hands full against Hayward on defense. (Crowder, too)

But lets be real. The rest of the Cavaliers? Can they play defense?

Especially if Rose/Isaiah aren't 100% and remain injury-prone, the Cavaliers are in trouble even with Lebron on their team.

Was either of them an All Star?

Hayward has made one all-star team, after 6 NBA seasons, in a season that happened to be a contract year.

Certain future hall of famer right there!

I dont understand you point.  He was just the best player in a Western Conference playoff series.  He's about to be a 5x or 6x All Star going forward.  You think he's going to be bad?

I never even said that he was going to be a hall of famer. He's obviously much better than Delk and Gallo.
