I have been waiting to get a new Celtics jersey since I found out Nike would be taking over the apparel, but I can't make up my mind who's jersey I should buy. All offer their own conundrum; Irving is the biggest star but I dislike his personality, Hayward is a fantastic player but not a true star and very vanilla guy who may be lost in the annuals of Celtic legends, Horford seems like a great teammate but similar to Hayward isn't a true star and could be traded in a year or two, Brown and Tatum are my favourite players but I honestly don't trust Danny...I can see me buying their jersey and a few months later he trades them lol

Help me choose please!

I like Brown a lot, so that's who I'd get (who I will get shortly). But Hayward is a safe bet for being here long term and playing really well.

Given the roster turnover over the past few years, I wouldn't buy a jersey of any player on the current roster.  I'd rather spend my money on the jersey of a Celtics legend.  Someone whose legacy is cemented in the C's franchise and cannot be traded away.

A few years back, the Celtics store had a special offer for a $13 custom made jersey (I think it was a Friday the 13th special).  I bought a youth XL size jersey (I'm 5'8'' so it fits me well) and picked the #33 and had the letters "BIRD" inscribed on the back.  So I got a Larry Bird jersey for 13 bucks, being that I was pretty broke at the time - and there's no chance he's being traded.

If I HAD to pick someone from the current roster, I'd probably go with Smart.  The way he plays embodies what putting on a Celtics uniform is all about.

Tatum for sure. Best bet to be here the longest due to age, talent, and the Celtics/Danny’s love for him. Will play a big part from day 1, and I think he’ll develop into our go to scorer a couple years down the road. The number 0 also looks pretty slick.

Rodney Hood / Nic Batum / Marcus Georges Hunt

Smart, the toughest player in the L and the longest tenured Celtic.

The jerseys now come with lighter fluid and a matchbook.

Gordy is a safe option, and he's in position to surprise a lot of Celtics fans.

Otherwise, like others have said, just go for a legend jersey.  I'd say either Bird or IT4.

Go with a Pierce or KG...buying new jerseys is just too risky.

I have a Kings Artest, Mavs Rondo, and Niners Aldon Smith jersey to prove it.

Tatum or a Irving would be mine.  Smart would be among last choices if thinking long term.  Fifty fifty he makes it past his first contract.

Smart, Irving, Hayward, Horford, Brown, Tatum

I like all of those guys and would get any of their shirts.

In all honesty, it's probably safest to go with Stevens. Lol

Danny has already shown he's not afraid to trade fan favorite All-Star level players and Celtic legends if he thinks it makes the Celtics better.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
I got a Horford jersey last year and I'm going to get a Hayward jersey this year. I appreciate that they chose to play in Boston. Also with the way we turnover the roster I want to get the jersey of someone I know will be on the team for a while.

Kyrie is probably a great option, but I still don't love the trade so I don't want to get his jersey.
