Only two players continue in Maccabi since last season. Similarly, only four players continue in Anadolu and Baskonia.
Notice the coach changes too: only nine out of 16 coaches continue in their teams. This is a league with very fluid rosters.
Finally, CSKA replaced Teodosic with Sergio Rodriguez (played in Philly last year): as good a replacement as they could possibly find.

I'll be making short presentations for teams. If ppl want to write stuff on a team they know/like, feel free to jump in.
I start with Panathinaikos. We rather unexpectedly won the Greek championship last year, by beating Olympiakos at his home in game 5- Panathinaikos had not done this since 1999, as the home court advantage is hard to break in Greece.
Panathinaikos got two players this offseason iirc: Antetokounmpo's older brother (Thanassis) - to me he seems unpolished offensively, but his athleticism is a plus in Europe, esp. when it comes to D- and Matt Lojeski, an American-Belgian spot-up shooter who used to play for Olympiakos. If you could put these two together and make a player with Lojeski's shot and Thanassis' D, it would be great. Just sayin ::)
Other notable players are Calathes and Pappas - both played in the Eurobasket.
Looking at the roster above, I am not sure why Charampopoulos is not included- he got an injury but should be back before Christmas.
The coach is Xavi Pascual, I think he is a significant upgrade over the previous one (Pedoulakis) and I'm happy they kept him for this year too. Maybe Darío can add here.

And this the 1940 basketball team - apparently the Athens YMCA was among their main rivals.
Edit: I just saw Panathinaikos lend Charalambo to PAOK. I wish they had done it earlier - he needs mins to improve.

Last 10 days were hectic but now I'm back to presenting Eurobasket teams. Ideally I'll write something on Real and Maccabi And if time allows, expand a bit more.
So, today... CSKA.
Their star player, Milos Teodosic, is gone to the Clippers, but CSKA still has a strong roster. The highlight of the summer was getting Sergio Rodriguez to replace Teodosic. CSKA remains one of the strongest Euroleague teams.
They have been at the top for more than 50 years.They have lost the Russian title only twice since 1992 (in 2001 and 2002), for a total of 24 Russian championships in 27 seasons. They were dominant in the Soviet era as well winning a total of 24 titles.
Among the few teams that broke the CSKA monopoly was Zalgiris Kaunas winning three titles in the 80s (1985-87), when they had Sabonis in their roster.
CSKA have also won a total of 7 Euroleague/Champions cup titles; only Real Madrid has more with 9.
Much of this success is owed to coach Alexander Gomelsky. He was their head coach from 1966 to 1988 - unfortunately, I do not know anything about his coaching style nor could I find any info; this despite him being a HoFer and having written several books on bball.
