Wish me luck because she's aiming dead at me here in SW FL.

Fortress Granath has been constructed. Hurricane shutters are in place. Cars protected in garages. Extra food, water, batteries. We're in for one wild ride. This should be an interesting weekend.

Good luck!  My parents had to evacuate their home in South Carolina.  Hopefully it doesn't take 10 days for them to get back like it did for Matthew last year.

In Orlando here - looks like it is coming right up through the middle of Florida. Good luck over on the west coast and be safe!

Also, we should probably merge the two threads. I have a feeling this topic will come up again in the next couple of days.

I have family in Ft Lauderdale and have been in contact with them.  Pretty scary how large this storm is and how it looks like it will hit almost everywhere in Florida with some level of hurricane force winds.  Everyone down there stay safe, Granath and Jambr you guys be careful!

i live on Carolina coast and been though my share , so I feel your pain.   The noise is the scariest thing to me . People that have never been in a 125 mph wind for a day .....well stick your head in a Mac Truck engine compartment and run the engine wide open .  And your home is swaying , creaking , growning , poping .....while the noise is non stop for 8 -12 hours .  Walk outside , and your home is plastered in wet leaves .  Every tree is bare ...if it stands .  I seen 20 ft waves lapping at the tops of the dunes .

This type of storm is not for timid minded folks .   I advise people to seek safety.

Everybody stay safe .

We are as prepped and ready as we can be on the Space Coast east of Orlando. We'll be glad when its over.

Thanks, man.

I'm not in an evacuation zone and have all my shutters in place. I'm about 25 miles southwest of downtown Miami, in a rural area.

Clearwater, fl here.  One minute it is going up east, next minute the center...now looks like us the west coast.  Hunkering down with friends...have plenty of water and food, meds ok, cars gassed up.  Outdoor furniture is in.  Nothing to do now but wait.  They are saying winds should drop before it reaches us.

Eddie has been great here for a while. Let me know if you need me to send water or something, depending on how bad it is.
