Lots of interesting stuff, but what I've found most interesting so far is that they clearly have no clue when IT will be back. They are clearly trying to avoid talking about it:

Also some interesting stuff about Jae not being happy about bringing in so many wings. He was concerned about his role:

http://twitter.com/Scott_Souza/status/905838657885614081

It's a good thing Jae was involved in the trade. Obviously he had the potential of turning into a malcontent with a diminished role.

No surgery expected for IT, but they're not giving any timetable for return either:

I think this press conference should make some of the trade's skeptics feel a bit better. There is obviously pretty significant concern regarding IT's injury, and Jae looks like he could've posed a locker room problem this season after adding Hayward, Morris, and Tatum.

"The goal is to bring him back at some point and to be healthy" sounds awfully broad.

So Cleveland is having IT go a non surgical route? Well, that makes them look even more petty now after the reports of him needing surgery etc. during the entire trade ordeal.

I watched the press conference - certainly a different mood than the Kyrie/Hayward one, but both had only nice things to say about Boston (even if they feel differently).

I agree that the injury issue also was a little peculiar, but I just assumed they didn't want to set any expectations and also not have the whole press conference about IT's hip.

I have done a 180 on this trade given IT's condition. I really don't expect to be the same player at any point this season, if ever again.

TP for being reasonable and not going down with this ship.

It was kind of awkward hearing them sidestep the hip questions.  All of that going on in front of the "Cleveland Clinic" backdrop.  I feel bad for IT.  Making the best of a tough situation.

Yeah, it's going to be interesting to see both when he comes back and how he plays once he's back. I think you'll see many more people changing their mind about the trade in the coming months.

Hopefully he'll still be able to get a good-sized contract somewhere, though, preferably out West.

Great, I assume you’re a doctor then? If not, then it really doesn’t matter what you expect does it. We have no idea how healthy IT is and what condition his hip is in. There have been hundreds of reports ranging from he will be ready from Game 1 with no long term effects, to a career ending injury. Truth is we have no idea since we are not doctors and don’t have access to his medical records.
CB Mock Deadline - Minnesota Timberwolves
Kemba Walker / Tyus Jones / Aaron Brooks
Jimmy Butler / Jamal Crawford / Treveon Graham
Rodney Hood / Nic Batum / Marcus Georges Hunt
Taj Gibson / Nemanja Bjelica / Jonas Jerebko
KAT / Derrick Favors / Cole Aldrich
Picks - 2018 CHA 1st (Lotto protected), none out

Your reply is inaccurate. IT was recently ruled out for the beginning of the season (which was repeated again today). There has also been a lot of additional information provided on on the kind of injury with quotes from actual doctors. Including the lengthy article from ESPN yesterday. This information has certainly made it seem like there is a higher risk than how the Celtics were reporting things a month ago. Compare the takeaway from July from the Celtics that he would be ready for training camp https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/celtics-danny-ainge-says-isaiah-thomas-will-not-require-hip-surgery/

While it is true that we don't have concrete info on when he will be ready, it certainly is less optimistic than it was made to be at the end of July. Also I am not sure why you are taking such an adversarial tone because i changed my opinion on the trade...
