Is Josh Smith still in the league?

He played in China last year but he's working out for the Pelicans this week. He is only 31.

This might be the biggest revelation in this entire thread.  Wow.

Our team is more in need of a rebounding specialist than a do-it-all (sometimes to the detriment of the team) over-the-hill veteran.

A few years ago, a fairly large percentage of CB was interested in Smith when he was being offloaded for nothing. He was actually a very impressive player at his peak - as it turns out, that would have been a horrible idea. The last thing we need now is a high usage, formerly athletic player who likely won't accept his role within the smooth machine that is Stevens' offense.

I would probably sign most of the people posting to this forum before Josh Smith.

I would rather have David Lee or Kris Humphries back at the min.

This isn't really related, but I feel like this is a good time to remind everyone that the Pistons have a $5.4 million dollar cap hit from stretching Josh Smith, and will continue to have it through the 2019-20 season.  It's both sad and hilarious
I'm bitter.

Dons remember all of the trade for Josh Smith to play and run with Rondo threads.

Weren't we also going to just sign him to a high dollar free agency deal?

Probably though I doubt we had cap space for him, probably a sign and trade for high dollars.

Man that Pistons contract, that was fun for them wasn't it. Then he eliminated the Clippers rofl.

I think Smith even now is still a far superior and more versatile defender than Robinson, as such I'd rather have Smith, assuming of course he can actually still play at a NBA level.  Robinson probably is the better long term bet, but if I'm making a run at the Cavs this year, I'd rather have the versatile defender coming off my bench.

Those things popped up weekly for quite some time.
