Starting to wonder more if Ainge was more willing to give up the BK pick over the LAL pick...

some thoughts

As we all know LAL have created their current roster in order to heavily spend for next years FA class..
Their roster isnt really playoff caliber (yes I think Ball will be good but not that good as a rookie)
Lopez and Pope are the highest priced free agents who by all means would be walking..
Magic could at least acquire more assets for clearing space basically tanking the team...
You have room for Lebron, George, and possibly a third.. Now you can trade Ingram as a major chip along with assets from what was received from Lopez and Pope.
So in essence Lebron would have another Big 3 plus Ball...

Agreed. That nets pick could end up being in the 7-10 range. The nets have the 7th hardest strength of schedule, whereas the Lakers have the 3rd.hardest strength of schedule. The east is so bad that bad teams face each other many times, and bad teams will be accumulating more wins than their bad west counterparts. That makes the nets better and Lakers worse

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
If it does not come this year. The Kings will suck even more next year I am sure. SO we win her way.

Not sure if Danny is a genius but I have faith in him.  If Danny said the earth was flat I'd start to think seriously about it.

Well, Danny did trade for Kyrie, so that's a possibility.

It depends where you rank Kyrie among the league leaders

I have seen people/media rank him as top 5 player

If so, even if the 2018 pick ends up being in the 3-5 range.... Thats ok

I think the main premise of this is that Danny believed the LA/Sixers/SAC pick is worth more than the BKN pick so that is the one he offered to CLE.  I am not so sure about that.  I find it hard to believe that if given the choice, Danny would give up the BKN pick over the other pick.  The two picks each have about the same chance of being high but one has protections and one doesn't.  I give the edge to the unprotected pick anytime.

I expect both BKN and LAL to be bad.  It is hard to predict which will be worse or how the ping pong balls will fall.  Either team could have a run along the way and play themselves right out of the low lottery also.  Very hard to pick.  The protected vs. no protection is the only thing that is for sure.

I hope to hell this thing doesn't backfire on Ainge.

Really, my only real hangup with this trade.
