Just curious, but what are the Cavs fans saying about this?

They love it as they should.

I was not a fan of giving IT the max so I'm not upset about trading him but including the BKN pick was a mistake that we may end up regretting big time.  Surprised that Danny agreed to to including without some type of protection.  Now I have to root for the Nets.

I'd have had a hard time giving up the BKN pick in isolation for Kyrie.

Ask them in year.  IT is one year rental, he wants max $
Lebron is gone in year, crowder becomes his replacement  :-\
Zizic pans out in 3 years or never makes it
Draft pick who knows where the pick falls or if player ever gets to all star level

if the pick is not protected, it's an overpay.  it'd make sense if Danny made it the lesser of the Nets/Laker pick next year (or if the Laker pick didn't convey, they get the Sac/Philly pick the next year)

We still have enough assets to get a good big.  It would be nice to get someone young that can grow with the core.  Drummond?  He might fit if Tatum lives up to his potential.

I actually like the trade alot.  I would have preferred the LAL pick but you have to give to get.   Since I never wanted to max IT, with out a trade for a PG I would have wanted one of our picks to be a PG Doncic or Sexton and the other a big man.  Then I'd let IT walk.  But to get a legit full sized all star pg is all that one could hope for in a draft pick so losing the Brooklyn pick isn't a point of stress for me.

In trying to rationalize this, we should be better this year with a healthy Kyrie over a potentially hobbled IT. Losing Crowder hurts and the BKN pick is borderline devastating, but that piece wasn't going to help us THIS year.

If Danny was never going to re-sign IT to a long term contract, then you can basically look at it as Crowder, Zizic, and the BKN pick for Kyrie.

Looking at this deal like we are upgrading from IT to Irving this year and turning the BKN pick into Irving in the future makes it more palatable, but I still can't believe Danny was the only GM who paid a 'fair' market price for his recently acquired superstar.

I'm lukewarm on it right now. I think it has great potential for us, but I'm worried about losing out on a Bagley or Porter if Kyrie doesn't end up working out.
