David Griffin is on the jump, responding to Ron Harper's comments on Irvings youth and Ignorance. David says "he went to Dan Gilbert privately and said he wanted to be somewhere else, the absolute worst thing he could have done is pretend he was all in, and sink the ship from within. Most guys don't have the courage to do that, that's not Youth and ignorance that's a little bit more courage than people give him credit for, his list included really good coaches Brad Stevens and Popovich"

He said Coach Stevens first by the way.

Now we can spend the rest of the summer making "should we trade IT for Kyrie?" threads.

Yea and he kept mentioning Gordon Hayward as somebody Kyrie would like to join/play with. This is very interesting. I know the Celtics weren't on his list when that report came out but Griff has gotta have some inside knowledge. Maybe we were left off the list because of leverage.

Cavs won't deal with the Celtics.

And if so, that means an overpay by our Beloved Beantown Ballers.

If Boston gives them the best deal, why wouldn't they deal with Boston?  Thomas, Crowder, Rozier for Irving makes a lot of sense for both teams.

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Here is the segment by the way...

Actually this could really say something... never heard the names of Stevens and Hayward connected to Irving, and for Griffin to basically just say these names along with Pop and Lebron should tell something...

The question, do we want him?

I just don't see the point in trading for Kyrie. While he isn't as much of a massive defensive liability as IT due to his size (and he actually played good D during their title run), I think the actual gap between the two in skill/talent is minimal, while the cost to get him will be significant. I also think IT's style of play is better suited to Brad's system than Kyrie's iso/dribble-heavy game.

I'd be down with helping facilitate a trade of him to the spurs if we could get Love/Thompson or Danny Green back.

I love this trade for the C's, and if the Cavs want to compete this year, that would have to be one of the better trade offers available.

Maybe trade for him in 3 years or so when Thomas is on the decline. I don't see the point now where there isn't much difference between the 2, and you have to overpay. Plus I'd say Thomas at this point has better leadership/intangibles than Irving. IDK,  it would be really tough for me to trade Thomas now especially as he helped secure Horford and Hayward the last 2 years.

Yep.  I might even throw in Boston's 2018 1st if necessary, but am not sure it would be.

TP Shaq Hahaha. I wish he would be more honest and just say he wants out of LeBrons shadow like yesterday.
