First Pelton, now Nate and Danny pop our balloons.

The Celtics got a C minus offseason grade.  They were disappointed with what Danny did.

They don't love Tatum.
They don't love Bradley trade.
They don't love Baynes.

There are even more stinging remarks...when it rains, it pours.

No offense to the OP, but who cares? This is how the sports world works in the age of social media and 24-hour coverage—they have to have something to do, something to talk about, something to focus on, and just going by the anecdotal evidence, most of these guys end up being wrong most of the time about most things. They're like weathermen. I wish there were websites that handed out grades for these people and their crappy powers of prediction.

I find it hilarious that since the end of the season, when neither has played a game, Bradley has somehow progressed, while Hayward has apparently regressed.

The grading is nonsense. If we don't trade Bradley, don't sign Baynes, and draft Fultz over Tatum then the narrative would be that our poor rebounding team is now smaller and have a logjam at the 1-3 spots.

At this point, grades don't matter until actual games start.

Tatum vs Fultz and Ball has to be followed, and will be a major make or break moment of Danny's legacy. It's all well and good to say "we got the guy we wanted most at number 3," but if Fultz and/or ball are franchise players and Tatum ends up being a shoot first ball stopper who doesn't shoot threes and ends up like Al Thornton (while we have a 5'9 28 yo PG and no real PG in the pipeline at that position), that will be a major miss. I'm sure Danny is confident, because that is a very risky move.

I give them a B+ on their off-season moves. Would have been an A if they could have gotten George and/or more rebounding.

It's no longer pouring. Hopefully this makes people feel better.

While I respect Nate Duncans opinions, Danny Lerouxs less, this show was one of thiers poorest evaluations. Generaly the show was subpar due to Dannys continual defering to Nates rationel.

Here are their arguments:
Bad Fultz trade - realisticaly, very much up in the air, too early to tell.
Keefs redundancy. and contract extension?
Smart < than Bradley. I would compare AB exit to GHs arrival and we fare much better on that side of the bargain.
Baynes is subpar starter. Horford will close the games anyway.
We didn't adress athletic big need. We didn't, they are right.

While they could make an argument for moves in a vacume. They are missing the big picture here and Nate Duncan rarely does. That picture is:
1) We got the best FA on the market, he is also our best two way player and a much needed 2nd option for closing big games.
2) We got more physical and bigger. Kelly, Zeller, Jerebko and Amir were below NBA big average physicaly. New guys are tougher and more explosive. That would translate to better defensive rebounding.
3) We got more wings for potential GSW war. Smart is more than capable defending PG.
4) We finaly got a roster for Stevens measure.
5) We still posses the most assets of any team.

My grade is A-
"The joy of the balling under the rims."

We added Gordon Hayward and a top-3 prospect. It's hard to call that below average.

What we really need is a section on the forums for "Expert Opinions." Each thread would be a different "expert" and we could track how many times they change their minds throughout the year (and then claim that they didn't). Then, at the end of the year, we can grade them.

Sigh, still need to start my basketball site dedicated to all clickbait, all the time. Bleacher Report needs some competition.

I agree, but many in the media and fans on here expected fireworks and then when you couple that Paul George and Jimmy Butler were both actually traded for packages that Boston easily could have beaten, there is a bit of a letdown from expectations.  It was still an excellent summer, but it wasn't what it realistically could have been, so how do you really grade it.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Who in their right mind would love the Sixers trade?

#1 for #3 + one protected lotto pick??

Let's face it, that's terrible value for a #1 pick. Had anyone proposed this trade a couple of months ago, people would believe he is most likely trolling.

As for the Pistons trade, I think it's rather obvious that Bradley is a better player than Marcus Morris (not to mention we gave them a second rounder as well). In a vacuum, Pistons won the trade. Obviously, we had no leverage cause we needed the cap space to sign Hayward, but at the end of the day we should have planned ahead.
