Wait -- his birthdate is June 2000, so he's not draft eligible until 2019.  I think he's leaving high school June 2018 instead of June 2019.

On the plus side, it makes the top of the 2019 class deeper, should we get the Kings pick instead of the Lakers pick.

Highly doubt Lakers finish bottom 5.

what i've read today, albeit not a ton, is that now his plan is to go to college this year, would he then be able to enter draft in 2018?

Of course he wants to go to college THIS YEAR, that's the whole point of reclassing. KY seems to be the frontrunner. He'll barely be eligible, but WILL be eligible for the 2018 draft..

No.  You have to be 19 during the year you are drafted, and he was born in June of 2000, so he cannot be eligible until the 2019 draft.

Right. What this is is confirmation that Bagley is coming out in 2018. Now Barrett can come out in 2019 and have a great show of being the 19 No 1. Bagley looks like a done deal..

Interesting. If  we end up with the kings pick,  that class is already starting to stack up

The lakers will not be as bad as people think.  I'd say it will be borderline 5-8 and if it's not top 6 then it's Sac19.  Depends on Lopez and if they keep him the whole year.  I'd assume he gets traded to a contender for assets.  If he does then that helps but they made some nice moves and Ball is going to be a great facilitator for that team.
