And any trade would most likely "center around Wiggins"

:PIf they trade Wiggins for Kyrie they're ... dumb, why are you paying Teague LeBron money to be a backup?

They can have Irving play SG.
Teague, Irving, Butler, Taj, Kat

If it doesn't work well move Teague in Dec.

Don't pay the down payment on the house just yet, Andrew!

Kyrie and Butler don't seem to be a great fit, but Kyrie is probably better than Wiggins ever will be. How would Wiggins feel if the trade doesn't go through though? I'd be kind of upset with my teammates.

If Wiggins IS traded for Kyrie, LeBron would have played a huge part in determining Wiggins' destination not once, but twice. That must be a strange feeling to have, for a first overall pick to be a trading pawn two times so early in his career.

Also, Wiggins is a RFA next season. Why would HE want to stay either, especially if LeBron leaves? Yes there's max money, but most of the team is composed of vets a lot older than he is. What would he be signing into? If Lebron weren't there, why would anybody want to be in Cleveland?

Getting Irving out of the EC will help but:

James

Thompson

Rose

Wiggins

That will still be a tough playoff out for us.

Number one: you want a sieve in irving to play SG?
Number two: nobody is taking on Teague's contract unless the wolves give up a pick.
Number three: Why pay that much for irving right now? Wait a bit longer and get the cavs desperate. I'm pretty sure the end package will be kind of like Teague and young vets for kyrie and bad contracts value wise.

Teague isn't close to Lebron money. It's more in the range of Allen Crabbe / Ryan Anderson / Evan Turner money.

Good trade for Cleveland. Bad for Minnesota.

Teague + Wiggins > Teague + Kyrie

LeBron + Wiggins + K-Love > LeBron + Kyrie + K-Love

Minnesota should be patient and continue to develop Wiggins. He can be a very good player once (if) he can improve his defense. Kyrie's lack of development over past few years is more concerning than Wiggins' slow improvement. I'd rather bet on the younger guy with more size and athleticism (Wiggins).

Didn't listen to the podcast, but I've felt since the Irving story broke that Wiggins, Aldrich, and Jones for Irving and Felder made a fair amount of sense for both teams assuming the Wolves felt Teague and Irving would work as a starting backcourt.  It would be a small backcourt with Teague at 6'2" and Irving at 6'3", but would really only cause defensive issues against a few teams and would cause significant problems for most teams trying to guard them.

I agree with this. Wiggins can still grow into quite a solid defender. Kyrie seems to have made almost no improvement on that end of the court.

In addition to that, Wiggins fits better next to Butler and Towns I believe, as Teague and Kyrie would be quite weak defensively together.

Also, Wiggins is a RFA next season. Why would HE want to stay either, especially if LeBron leaves? Yes there's max money, but most of the team is composed of vets a lot older than he is. What would he be signing into? If Lebron weren't there, why would anybody want to be in Cleveland?

He doesn't have a choice. A team can offer max money, Cavs match, and now Cleveland has his right through 2022.

He probably would have already signed his 5 year max extension if not for the trade rumors.

Well from talking to some guys over there at canis hoopus, most of them aren't very high on Wiggins, esp not as much as CBers are on him.

Perhaps, but who plays defense on that team? Plus, rose is not a rose is not a rose,by any name. He not as good as he once was.

I think this cav team may be weaker than last year's team. Honestly, the Celtics may be able to beat the team you listed above.
