We may never hear of this guy again, but how can you not root for a guy who could go from Icelandic farmer to NBA center?

Reading up, it sounds like he's a legitimate prospect.  Given that we have potentially six first rounders in two years, a draft-and-stash or three seems pretty likely.  Taking a flyer on a 7'1" player who's relatively new to basketball, and could be stashed for years overseas (currently has four years left on his deal with Valencia) might not be the worst use of one of those picks.  Odds are there will be better uses, but he's definitely a name to keep an eye out for, and has a neat story attached as a bonus.

Saw Petur Gudmundsson play live for the Blazers. I hope that this Icelandic player is quite a bit better.

Plus, he has a cool Icelandic name.

What's not to love? If he develops into the legitimate prospect that he could, I'd be perfectly happy picking him and stashing him.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Awesome. TP.
