First of all I'm a little annoyed that Kyrie already now pleas for a trade. I would have hoped he could have waited a few month until Porzingis and/or Davis would come up with a similar plea, because I think that will happen.

But even though I have tried to come up with a way to use the Kyrie-plea to come up with an interesting trade idea.

http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y8qml6tf

To Boston

Anthony Davis

To Cleveland

Al Horford

To New Orleans

2 1st round picks(2018 Lakers and Boston)
Kyrie Irving
Channing Frye

Why would Boston do it?

It's a shame to give up Al Horford, but Anthony Davis is so much more talented. At the same time we free up salary, which will make it easier to sign Thomas and Smart. At the same time we would have a talented core for years to come. If necessary I would be willing to give one more 1st for this to happen.

Why would Cleveland do it?

Kyrie is unhappy, and it is extremely hard for Cavs to get enough value for him. Getting a star like Horford would be perfect especially because he would help in the matchup against GSW.

Why would New Orleans do it?

I don't believe that teaming up Davis and Cousins will ever work. Instead they need more talented ball handlers and wings to help them. That is why I think they will be interested in getting Frye and Irving, and at the same time they can build a great squad for the future.

As I said before it might be hard to persuade New Orleans, and it would be much easier ones it becomes clear that the current setup just isn't working, so lets hope no team comes up with a good offer within the next couple of month.

I think this would be the one making us contenders, not this season but maybe already next season as our talents gets better and older.

Come on man. You have to give Cleveland more...Jae Crowder at least.

If that's the price I would also be willing to pay that!

Cleveland would not traDr Kyrie for Horford if it meant we got Davis. They're not stupid enough to see that that would make us favorites to come out of the east
I'm bitter.

Then again if New Orleans entertains that offer, youd think Cleveland would want Anthony Davis themself. But yea, I see Ainge going for AD or Lebron when the smoke clears.

I think it will be more than a few months.  Both guys will say all the right things going into the new season.  They will give their good faith effort to make it work with their current teams.  I would say the Feb 2018 trade deadline, at the earliest.

If Melo gets traded, I doubt Porzingis complains at all.

Davis could squawk sooner, esp if Boogie goes nuclear.

Cleveland would need way more compensation than Horford, but I think Boston would still be willing to throw in a bit more to nab AD.

'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Prolly too good for us to be true, even if the LAL pick comes up 2nd in the lottery.

I agree that Cleveland would want more, but it's not like they have high lottery picks to add to get Davis themselves. Horford on Cleveland would be a little strange - that front line would be massive with a pretty terrible guard rotation.

The Pelicans should offer Cousins for Kyrie straight up. That's s good trade for both teams. The core of Kyrie and AD would be their best chance to keep AD long term

This is the trade proposal that sounds the likeliest to occur of the ones proposed here

NOP could include Rondo and a lottery protected 1st.
