I wouldn't be remotely surprised if Ainge called about Curry or Durant last year just to make sure Golden State was going to keep both of them.

This is Danny's MO: be in on everything in case you can get anything out of it.

We won't trade for Irving, but we'll be sure to get some information about it, just in case we can use it.

Agreed. Facilitating a deal with another team is the only way I can imagine the Celtics getting involved in this.

It's also interesting to note that they're looking for "a bundle of assets," rather than a ready-made star. They don't want to push Lebron out by getting a bunch of picks and young players for Kyrie, but it certainly looks like they're already preparing for life after Lebron.

It also states that the Cavs view a Kyrie trade as "inevitable" now.

It might finally be the year that we break Lebron's Finals streak.

You don't think he's got a package ready ? He's got the bundle of assets.

I think he's got a great package ready, but like Indiana, no team in their right mind is giving the Celtics another stud.

He's kicking the tires.   That's what GMs do.  He probably has an idea of what he would be willing to give up for Kyrie but I'm sure CLE is asking for the moon here.

Is Kyrie and his bargain contract worth IT, Jae, and a lottery pick?

Cleveland would almost have to take that deal, but the only way that it clearly helps us is financially.

Then aren't we back in the same situation next year when Kyrie becomes an expiring contract?

If they got a stud back, plus other pieces, I think they'd strengthen their team with a trade.

That extra year is significant, especially when it comes to repeater tax issues.

Don't want a player who doesn't wanna be here..IT gives us chemistry...Irving can go to the Knicks for Carmelo.

I honestly doubt Danny would ever give up any lottery picks in a trade unless he was getting back AD. Danny is running his own little version of the "Process" here behind the scenes while also winning at the same time. Can't see him messing with it..
